sonreir project

in collaboration with the FRIENDS OF BARNABUS FOUNDATION, a grass roots medical mission serving children in Central America, I founded the Sonreir Project in 2007. the Sonreir Project allows artists to travel with medical teams twice a year in order to provide a rather progressive recovery environment for small patients. in countries where the medical community is all too unfamiliar, we are able to bring a warm, creative atmosphere through painting, drawing, & music. the Sonreir Project has directly influenced patient healing & recovery, bringing ease to concerned families and providing an uplifting space to the visiting surgical teams. http://www.fobf.orghttp://fobf.org/shapeimage_1_link_0

we travel with enough materials for the recovery house high up in coffee country as well as each and every little patient is given a hand made satchel filled with paints, brushes, drawing tools and putty just for them.
